Christmas Morning Muffins

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

Time seems to have gone by so quickly and it seems only like yesterday that I posted the poll for S.&S.B. Christmas bake. We have had a sensational amount of 67 votes cast in our poll!!!! Both Maria and I watched intensely as the figures altered from one bake to another. Two bakes that seemed to be the most popular veered for first place ~ Christmas muffins and the Stained Glass Window Cookies. But by just one vote and into the lead the victorious bake you have voted for is............Round of applause.........Christmas Morning Muffins.

These muffins are a quick and easy bake for Christmas morning breakfast (or any breakfast come to that); with glorious aromas of spices and flavours emitting through the air as they bake. They are perfect for a light breakfast either served plain or broken open smeared with butter and marmalade. We have given slight changes in this recipe at S. & S. B. for anyone who is unable to source certain produce outside the U.K.

This recipe is sourced and adapted from Nigella Christmas cookbook. A very beautiful book by, The Domestic Goddess’s herself and it definitely is worth purchasing for all the magnificent festive recipes inside.
We are excited about our December bake after viewing the poll votes and we hope you will join us! If you have any questions or queries, please leave a comment and both Maria and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible.
The recipe can be found here.

If you are a food blogger, we ask that you kindly write a post about your bake and link back to us @ Sweet and Simple Bakes. Let us know that you completed the bake and we'll list all the blogs that accomplished the bake. If you don't have a food blog and care to share how it went, feel free to contact us at sweet2simple[at]googlemail[dot]com

*Please note Posting Date on your Blog*: The date of posting this bake on your blog will be the 2nd of January 2009 for this event. This is due to Bank Holiday New Years Day when festivities are still ongoing here in the U.K. and around the world.

Many thanks for your cooperation and wishing you all here at S. & S. B. from Maria & I ~ A Very Happy Christmas and A Happy New Year 2009.

Rosie & Maria

I made the muffins, with mixed results...at least they taste great! I will have to tweak the recipe for next time. The post will be up tomorrow morning at 6:OOAM PST (U.S.) @ http://bad-girls-kitchen.blogspot.com/

I can come back and put in a direct link if you'd prefer, after it's posted.

Thanks for a fun and challenging event...I suppose working on my metric conversions would be a good resolution!
